- During the past week, red, white and purple poppies as worn by many, has prompted interesting discussions. The traditional red poppy has for generations been a sign of respect for people lost in military conflicts, the white poppy is a symbol of pacifism and the purple poppy is worn to remember the millions of animals killed in human wars.
